Denali State Park: Yes, there are two Denali Parks and this is the Alaska State Park that adjoins to Denali National Park. Denali State Park has superb backpacking and hiking with not near the crowds, and required permits and usage limits of the National Park.
Chugach State Park: This half million acre park sits on the eastern edge of Anchorage, and offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities, right next to the largest city in our state. But come prepared, just becuase it borders the Anchorage Bowl does not mean it has does not have servere weather with serious technical terrain.
